Instagram is giving us one more way to engage with our followers on Instagram stories with the new Questions sticker. The feature, which was added several months ago, allows you to either pose or prompt a question to your followers.
I won't go through all of the ways Instagrammers have gotten creative with this new sticker (the possibilities are endless!), but today I have a short and sweet video tutorial about how to use the sticker, how to refer back to questions that have been asked, and how to reply to questions via DM or publicly in your stories.
How to Use the Questions Sticker on Instagram Stories
- In stories take a photo or video, or swipe up to post a photo from your camera roll.
- Click on the sticker icon at the top of your stories and select Questions.
- Type your prompt (like "Ask a question").
- Add to your story
Your followers will be able to tap on the Type Something... grey box and submit questions or comments.
How to View Questions People Submitted
You will be notified of new questions via the notification feed. If you miss a notification or want to see all questions asked on a photo, go back to your stories and swipe up.
How to Reply to Questions People Submitted
After following the steps above, you can tap on a question to reply by Message or Stories. Tapping Message allows you to DM the person and tapping Stories allows you to publicly share a response. Note, the person's username is not displayed in the story response, but they receive a notification of your response.
When you post the question back to your stories you have the opportunity to take a new photo/video or use any of the basic Instagram stories features.
