This Cool Whip marshmallow fruit dip is one of the easiest dessert dips you can make. With just three ingredients, it comes together fast and tastes sweet, fluffy, and a little tangy from the cream cheese. It’s perfect for dipping fresh fruit, crackers, or cookies.

The texture is light and smooth thanks to the whipped topping and marshmallow creme. Serve it at your next summer cookout, holiday spread, or any party that needs a quick and creamy fruit dip. You can make it ahead and store it in the fridge until it’s time to serve.

Ingredients

- Cream cheese: Adds a subtle tang and creamy texture to the dip. Use full-fat for the best flavor, but you can also use reduced fat.
- Marshmallow fluff: Also labeled as marshmallow creme. It gives the dip its signature sweetness and fluffy texture. You can find it on the baking aisle near marshmallows.
- Cool Whip: Thawed whipped topping that lightens and smooths the dip. Use original or light depending on your preference. However, I do not recommend "extra creamy" whipped topping because the texture isn't as lightweight.

Instructions

In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and fluffy.
You might be tempted to throw in an entire 8 ounce block of cream cheese, but 4 ounces is just right. When I tested adding the whole block, the flavor becomes very cream cheese forward and the texture becomes very thick.

Add the marshmallow fluff and beat on low speed until fully combined.
Marshmallow fluff can climb up the beaters, so pull the mixer up slowly and pause as needed to keep it under control.
Don't forget to scrape the sides of the bowl!

Add the Cool Whip and beat on low speed until the mixture is light, smooth, and fully combined.

Serve at room temperature or chill until ready to serve. Great with strawberries, apple slices, grapes, pineapple chunks, graham crackers, or vanilla wafers.

Equipment
You need a medium mixing bowl. The one I use (pictured) is a little on the smaller side and still works great. You'll also need a hand mixer and a silicone spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl. Alternatively, you could use a stand mixer, but it's a little overkill for this super-easy recipe.
Behind the Recipe
My dad and I discovered fluffernutter sandwiches in the mid-2000s, and I've been a big marshmallow cream fan ever since. This is an easy fruit dip recipe that's low effort but will absolutely impress.
My top tips are to use a hand mixer (otherwise it's too hard to get the cream cheese smooth and well combined with the other ingredients) and to let the cream cheese soften. It blends better and gives you a much smoother dip.

FAQ
Yes, but it will result in a softer texture. Stick to Cool Whip if you want a slightly firmer dip.
Strawberries, grapes, apple slices, pineapple chunks, or any sturdy, sliced fruit.
Absolutely. It scales easily. Just use a larger mixing bowl.
